Strategy. Since year 2000 EpiData Software has developed from securing the principles of Epi Info V6 to an independent documentation oriented system with several translations and numerous downloads. To secure continued viability organisations and governments working outside low-income countries are expected to assist with funding or other support for development and maintenance of software. A full conversion plan to secure this and convert the software to open-source has been made .

To work with EpiData software and the EPX project file you must download and install the following:To define, document and export data get EpiData Manager
To enter data get EntryClient
To analyse and do data-management get EpiData Analysis
In special situations or when a given function is not yet developed in Manager, EntryClient and Analysis you could needEpiData (Classic) Entry v3.1 (get it here) (only for programmed checks, before/after end blocks)EpiData (Classic) Analysis v2.2.3 get EpiData Analysis Classic (for General Graphs, SPC analysis, life table analysis etc).

The basic file for EpiData work is now a single EpiData EPX project file, which contains field definitions,labels and controls during entry (specification here). A project file can be used and shared without conversion on Linux, Windows and Mac computers and contains UTF-8 encoded characters, which simplifies multinational use. Encryption of data and other features are easy to implement

The first version was developed in 1982 for MSDOS; and now the program is supported by almost all of the Microsoft Operating Systems. The software has been translated in many languages. However, if you are using Windows XP, you have to make sure you have SP3. If you don't, you will need to download it from Microsoft. 2ff7e9595c
